Marketing and Communications Intern
Reports To: Director of Marketing, Communication, and Customer Care
Hourly Non-exempt
Salary: $17.54 hourly up to (40) hours per week. No Benefits. The Employer is willing to work with the school to ensure internship criteria is met for school credit. A minimum commitment of (3) months

• A current student pursuing education and training in the field(s) of Marketing, Customer Service, Communications, or another related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to problem-solve independently.

• Marketing/Communications/Journalism interest preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing and Communications Intern will gain experience in building internal/external relationships with community, agency, and media partners. The intern will also gain experience in professional writing and graphic design/photography. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Customer Care. The primary responsibility of the Marketing and Communications Intern is to support the promotion of Girl Scouts Lakes & Pines events and ongoing communication with members, donors, media partners, and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to:
Projects may include:
• Customer Service: Responding verbally and in writing to customers
• Marketing: Writing, research, and general support for print and digital channels. Assist with photography and video production. Support the marketing and communications staff in creating collateral pieces.
• Communications: Uses member stories and experiences to develop articles that will be used for print and/or featured in monthly newsletters and on websites.
• Print Media: Conduct interviews to be used in marketing materials. Develop engaging written content for news releases and public service announcements.
• Digital: enhance and grow Girl Scouts Lakes and Pines’ presence on Meta, Twitter, and other channels by increasing social media fan-base and interactions.
