A History of Healing will briefly examine the history of healing, from the herbal remedies of our ancestors to modern medical marvels. We will spend a few hours discussing a specific medical topic, ranging from herbal healing, plagues/epidemics, vaccinations and modern medicine. Trigger warning: potentially graphic discussions include the medical practice of bloodletting, needles/injections, illnesses that induce vomiting, death and other medical procedures, all from the historic, medical and ultimately academic perspective. No medical treatments or practices will be given as part of or as a requirement of this presentation. Green tea, ginger candy and citrus will be offered in conjunction with discussion of herbal healing. *Bring your own lunch
